Once again I managed to take a few days to go to Hungary for the last games of the Woemen European Championship. And once again it was a great trip with good games, great visits and lots of time to catch up with the French team, the French supporters and some good friends living there.
Unfortunately injured and unable to play, it’s from the stands that I lived this epic semi-final of the 1st Division Carioca. Probably the longest game I ever watched with six extratimes of five minutes each. But in the end it’s my team who ended up the winner and it was a great moment for Niteroi!
I’ve been to a lot of InterNations’ parties since I moved to Rio but the ones at the Pestana Deck on Copacabana have always been special. Check our the view and the location. Definitely a great place to celebrate the end of the year with everybody.
Vila Isabel is one of the biggest samba school in Rio. They won the competition of the 2013 carnaval and were preparing for the 2015 carnaval when we went there for the night. Not sure if they’ll win this year but it was great to see their new performance.
For my first long weekend in Brazil we decided to go to Paraty with some good friends. A very nice colonial village six hours South of Rio with great treks, beaches, waterfalls… We stayed there for three days and three nights and a an amazing time!
The hike up the 842 meters of Pedra da Gavea is pretty steep but really worth the effort. With a 360° view around Rio’s coastline it is one of the best spot around the city and a perfect day trip for a sunny weekend.
Another diving weekend a few days after the first one and yet again a very good weekend. We were in Ponta do Leste, three hours South of Rio, and we dove on the shipwreck of the Pinguino, a ship who sank not far from Ilha Grande in 1967. A very nice dive!
