2014 has been starting very well with a great European Championship in Denmark and yet another title for the French team. I managed to go there before heading to Brazil and it's been amazing! Diving Weekend in Arraial do Cabo

I hadn’t been diving for a while but the state of Rio has a few good diving spots so we took the opportunity of a relaxing weekend to go to Arraial do Cabo to dive with the turtles. A nice dive and a very fun weekend with good friends!

Samba at Escola de Portela

Portela is one of the oldest and most famous samba school in Rio and during the pre-carnaval season they often organize gathering for samba and “feijoadas”, a traditional stew based on “feijaos”, the Brazilian black beans.

Hike up the Pedra da Gavea

The hike up the 842 meters of Pedra da Gavea is pretty steep but really worth the effort. With a 360° view around Rio’s coastline it is one of the best spot around the city and a perfect day trip for a sunny weekend.

Sailing in the Guanabara Bay

Sailing in the Guanabara Bay between Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi is a great way to see these cities with a different perspective and as always with this part of Brazil, the views around there are really amazing.

A couple of days in Brasilia

Brasilia is a crazy city. Built from scratch in the 50’s the capital of Brazil is very unique and well know for its architecture and crazy buildings. Maybe not the best city in the country but definitely a city worth a couple of days.

A couple of days in Salvador

Host of the game France vs Switzerland during the World Cup, Salvador was also having a great festival when I was there: the festival of São João da Bahia. A very nice and colourful event in the heart of Salvador’s old town, probably my favourite city in Brazil after Rio.

A couple of days in Porto Alegre

Having tickets for all the games of the French team during the World Cup I went to Porto Alegre for a couple of days and had the opportunity to have a quick look around the city. Very different from the other cities I have been to in Brazil so far.
